Water Quality Modeling

Hydraulic models used by Akel Engineering Group also have the ability to simulate water quality in distribution systems. As such, water quality models use the output from hydraulic model analysis, in conjunction with additional inputs to predict temporal and special distribution of a variety of water quality constituents within the distribution system.

Akel engineering Group has effectively used water quality analysis to:

  • Determine the impact of and develop a plan to mitigate issues resulting from PFAs in distribution systems.
  • Determine the impact of and develop a plan to mitigate issues resulting from TCP, TCE, DBCP, Chromium 6, and other constituents.
  • Identify the source water influence zones (surface versus ground water).
  • Identify seasonal blending zones
  • Water temporary data logger pressure monitoring programs
  • As-builts and Plat sheets verifications
